H3-2D Gimbal was ripped from its mount and the ribbon cable was cut.

What would have caused this?

This is a tough one. Just before it fell, it looks like the classic onset of VRS: angry hornets, instability, gimbal doing a tank slapper. But, your motors clearly shut off. You can hear them spool down just as it really starts to fall. More intriguingly the lights were still flashing (at least one red and one green) after they shut down.

Was it still powered up on the ground, lights on? Or was it completely dead? Does the battery show any life? It could be the mid-air battery shut down issue but I am not so sure.
