I'm trying to justify buying the p3a just to have my own instead of sharing a standard with my son. He is 34 and lives on his own. He's always off an adventure. So I know there will be times that the "SHARING" thing won't work,,,,lol.

I know the radios are way different. So that part is a no brainier. I know the Pro does 4k. I don't care about that right now.

Are there ANY differences in the p3s and p3a cameras at all.

I seen a youtube video about a guy saying if you use the Litchi app you can film in 60fps with the standard. So would that be true with the advanced as well.

Is there any differences in the gimbals.

There are a few small differences:

The biggest advantage of the P3A is that it uses Lightbridge (instead of Wi-Fi like the P3S). That means you'll be able to fly further and/or have a stronger signal in more locations when flying within VLOS.

Functionality-wise? No.

Thanks for the info.

Forgive my ignorance here, but is the sensor what I hear is different. One being a Sony and the other a Panasonic,,, or something like that.

Do you know anything about unlocking the 60fps on the standard using the litchi app.

Watch this. Pay attention what he starts talking about at the 4:40 mark.

As was stated in the specs, above, the standard is not 60fps capable, thusly there is nothing to "unlock" with Litchi.
The app will make no difference in that instance. Also as was stated, range and more reliable signal with Lightbridge as opposed to Wi-Fi. That should be justification enough, IMO. The Standard is much more susceptible to interference from local Wi-Fi.

One other difference, the standard has a single camera body/lens cover, the P3A has a removable lens cover - meaning the choice of ND filters is different.

Standard Camera 60fps Missing?

@Quick Cal You do realize that thread is from January of 2016. Many changes since then. From that, I gather that the Standards camera was never designed to "Fully" support 1080p 60fps. It will at 720 possibly.
