+1 what others have said about toggling the S2 switch. Thats how initiate RTH even when my phone is working.

iPhone will crap out fast with no warning in the freezing cold (first hand experience more than once). I now use a high current (2.1A) mobile USB charging pack in my warm pocket and a cable to my iPhone while flying (especially in the cold)
