installing 4k camera on 2.7k gimbal and board?

Hello and thank you to all,

I have a single dji 4k camera by itself, I also have a phantom 3 advanced complete with 2.7k and associated gimbal, I was wondering if I could swap the 2.7k for the 4k but still use the same 2.7k gimbal?
I found decent videos on youtube showing the process of replacing ribbon cables and that provides me with a process but I still don't know if the software side will match up or if I need to get a 4k specific gimbal?

Welcome to the forum.
If it’s 4K that you are after with the swap, the gimbal top (main) board of a P3A will not provide 4K.
