Do not buy from an RC store. Buy it from somewhere like Best Buy so when you get out of the box and only goes four hundred feet you can take it back and get your money back RC stores will not give your money back they want you to call DJI and send it back to china or wherever the hell it come from.

400ft or 120m is the maximum allowed in most places but you can get around it, read the manual again about the PAF switch. You need to activate the Attitude or "A" mode, then you can switch to it and manually fly higher but you really need to check the FCC regs first and check the laws for where you are flying, in "P" mode 400' is the law.
So Bill didn't respond here again but from other post he has made recently it is not altitude that is his problem but range which is a whole different problem.
