This may sound like a strange question... how flat does my p4p fly. I want to attach a laser plumb bob to the bottom of the drone. These lasers are self levelling, though I’m sure it won’t like it if the drone keeps moving....so yep the question is how flat does a p4p fly

Since it is not perfectly balanced a Phantom will continuously adjust thrust to each motor to maintain attitude and position and as such altitude will also change. Since it is always changing the question of how 'flat' is difficult to answer.

Additionally it will have to correct for wind currents or reflections off walls if indoors which may be present and constantly changing.

Lastly, your device will be hanging (pendulum) in a constantly descending column of air which will further add instability.

This does not seem like a good candidate for a Phantom's use.
Let me know if you try it.

Not as flat as you want, Even in the best conditions on the calmest day. The P4 will be experiencing turbulence. Thats just how copter aircraft fly.
