Hmm... What to do?

Hi all!

First of all thanks, this forum is awesome! So I don't own a Phantom yet. I am very interested in buying one. For now, I did order a Blade nano QX which is a nano copter to introduce me to quads and also practice my driving skill. This should arrive next week. Then most likely I will be in love and will be wanting more; the Phantom.

My question; here where I live (north Canada) we start having bad weather/winter around october. I am questioning myself, should I be buying one and have fun with it for a couple months before winter and then can't do anything all winter or should I wait for next year and maybe hope for a new model.

I would aim towards a Vision+ and I see they came on the market december 2013, should we expect see new model around same date?

Haven't heard anything about a new model coming out. Why not fly in the winter? I bet you could get some really nice shots especially right after a fresh snowfall.

We get some cold weather here that can usually go around -20 or -25 and sometimes -35. I read operating temps have to above freezing?

One solution is...move! Oh wait, I live north of Montreal and have that same weather. **** it does get cold. But I did see some youtube videos from my area taken last winter, and it did not seem to stop them from flying. Only having mine since about April, I do not intend to let our winters stop me....there are some really nice postcard scenery here in the winter along with great winter sports that are begging to be filmed.

The 2+ wasn't released until April 2014 but no-one has any idea when an updated model may show. There are no rumours.
