Help with weak signal

Hi when I get to the edge of this circle I get a weak signal message. It always happens around 1,800 feet. Is the outer edge of this circle supposed to represent your max distance?

No it's not. Outer line is the limit of the display circle.

I see so the triangle will never go past the circle no matter how far you fly?
