Help Please - The computer doesn't see the RC or Phantom

Brand new Phantom 2 Vision plus

Straight out the box, all parts fully charged.
The computer software does not see the RC controller OR the Phantom so stuck at square one and feeling more than a little silly (and frustrated)

Have tried it on two separate computers.
Know the USB cable works because used it to charge.

Has to be user error
Very green, help please

It's probably going to auto-update the camera gimbal firmware when it connects, then ask you to power cycle (the phantom)
You can't stop this, but no need to do any other updates initially.
The gimbal may swivel strangely during the update.

You could calibrate the sticks - from the controller in the RC (connect to controller) then in Assistant (connect to phantom).
The IMU is unlikely to need calibration, it wouldn't hurt, but just check and it will say no need most likely.

Otherwise just have a look through the available settings and best change nothing for a while.

DOH of course 'Make sure to install the Phantom windows driver' all that tiny type in the manual, all those hours of footage on YouTube and never a mention of the pigging drivers. (unless I am totally blind and deaf and that is entirely possible)
