I believe you need to connect to your home WiFi so you can register with dji and update your system. Once this is completed your system will likely come online. It is important that you be patient and read the manuals thoroughly.

You're wrong on that. I read the manual and wAtched all the videos BEFORE I flew it.

I didn't have anyone help with my 107 license. Unlike the DJI manual, the FAA material is very clear and precise.
