I am hoping to become a new drone pilot in the central CA area soon. This site looks like a great place to look for info on technique and products for all sorts of things drone related. Looking forward to learning from the seasoned folks and perhaps contributing a bit as I learn the ropes.

California is a great State for this hobby, lots of uncontrolled air space.
I am in Bakersfield, couple of months, loving it so far.
Just start slowly, enjoy and try not to sweat it too much.

Exactly why I'm considering the P3SE; not too expensive so I can play with it a little and not worry about damage. Seems to have good features and can even be used (carefully) indoors. I'm on Monterey Bay, so I do have more hilly terrain to deal with. I'm in a rural area, so I have to consider trees and getting to it if I loose it somewhere. Good luck in Bakersfield. It's gonna be HOT there this w/e.

Just stay high if you are around trees and stuff, let's the radio frequency get through. Line of sight, good idea.
