I have a Phantom 3 Profesional. The gimble doesn't seem to be able to calibrate it self. It freaks out and moves all around. This happened after a crash. The yaw arm is a little bent but everything looks fine. The camera works fine.

Any way of finding out what could be wrong. I would rather fix the gimble than replace it since the camera works.

Make sure the yaw arm didn't slip on its shaft. The grub screw should be square on the flat side of the shaft.
I've also heard of the roll motor slipping out of alignment. There's a video out there on how to adjust the motor position relative to the position sensor.

The crash could have also damaged the ribbon cable or it could have slipped a tad from its alignment. You can buy all the parts to fix it. Some can be had from DJI, while parts like the roll arm can be had from sellers on the internet.
Good luck
