DJI uses its own protocols, not really compatible with any DIY stuff.

If you want to use non-DJI FC, then TX/RX won't work, same with ESCs. You can reuse all the plastics and mechanical parts, and motors. That's basically it.

For image transmission, if you want it to go through LTE, it's hard to reuse anything as well, especially with Ph3 std - the whole transmission there is integrated into one board, so you can't easily get video signal from it. You'd have to write custom firmware I guess, and make the Wifi chip send packets to LTE (soldered somewhere..) instead of wifi.. then receive them on the other side.. doable, but the road there would be long and frustrating.

Some people were experimenting with reusing Ph3 case:

Just imagine showing another Ph3 flyer that yours can do flips XD

that would be fun, the p3 has a robust design and it does get fun to fly especially with the camera off of it, i just left the gimbal board connected and removed the arms and camera and was impressed with the handling.

sorry tangent... how about the gps module and compass?

The GPS is U-Blox and it sends packets in the U-Blox format. Documentation for that is public. If your FC can talk U-Blox, it will work.

Compass - I don't know. My guess would be that it's also some protocol created by chip manufacturer. The wiki says it's Honeywell chip.
