FPV question

OK, to all you expert FPV guys out there have a question for you. I have a garmin virb elite cam on my phantom 1.1.1, the FPV tx i am looking at getting has a go pro cable hookup, which is a mini USB connector on one end and the connector on the other end that goes into the TX. The garmin cam apparently has video and audio out with the mini USB port and mini HDMI port, as far as i know it does say in the manual that to get video out of mini usb port to a monitor u have to use there special cable hook up which has a mini usb connector on one end and a RCA composite video output connector on the other end with a couple of other connectors to hook up an external mic and audio if needed. I am only intersted in the video for FPV, question is will the Go pro cable that comes with the kit with the mini usb on one end and the specail adapter on the other end to plug into the TX work for my hookup?, i assume that both cam's use the same type of mini usb port for video out.

Hope this explains it, let me know if any one has some ideas.
