PROBLEM:
I have the latest version of OS X, 10.10 Yosemite. I upgraded the Mac Assistant Software from v3.2 to v3.4. Version 3.4 may be the problem, the central board upgrade occurs, but after the power cycle the main controller upgrade fails and locks up the macbook, leaving the Phantom beeping in firmware panic.

SOLUTION:
Unplug the Phantom 2 from the computer, do a hard shutdown by holding down the power button on the macbook until the screen goes black, then press the power button again to restart the macbook. Dump v3.4, go back to v3.2. Power down the Phantom, remove the battery from the Phantom and wait 10 seconds, then reinsert the battery. Plug the Phantom back into the computer and power up, then launch the Assistant. The Phantom main controller will finish upgrading to 3.08.
