This story just came out, the video is amazing and the flight amazingly stupid. The observation deck of the space needle is 500 ft high. Geez.

Thanks. Because of the date of the event I had actually searched for a previous topic but did not find anything with what I thought were good search parameters.

Not sure on Seattle laws but for a start there is a 400ft limit

My own interpretation and nothing more:

A) He wasn't flying in any fashion that would warrant his flying above 400'. He wasn't flying to do a building inspection etc that would warrant him to fly in that area.
B) I wholly believe that hobbyist have no reason/need to be flying at over 600'AGL (which he was).
C) Nothing about that flight is morally upstanding and he could have caused someone up there to make a mistake and lose their life over it. Very VERY UNCOOL!

Once again these are purely my thoughts and feelings and as such hold no legal weight but I still hope he gets the fullest weight of the law on him to set an example to others going forward. If we aren't able to self regulate then we are going to allow the "System" to regulate us out of business and hobby.
