Letting the battery discharge itself is better, unless you want to deep discharge every 20 cycles or so, in which case it aint gonna hurt it at that frequency

That's what DJI recommends doing. Another option would be to use a battery discharger (like this one).

Interesting, I looked over that light bulb discharge gizmo. Gets hot. Could be a fire hazard. Proceed with caution if you go that route.

Yes, sir. Super hot! Like any light bulb though, you certainly don't want to lay it down on something while it's illuminated. And, I would never recommend anyone leave it unattended.

Yeah, I have the same type bulb in some puck lights I have in the house. The 20w gets fire hot! I'm sure that 35w gets volcanic!
