Is there a way to set the center point of interest without flying directly over it? For example I may want to fly around a tower without flying over the center of it.

I see, but this is how the function has been designed. Maybe just fly close and set it a bit off center

Litchi does this, along with flight planning on your computer. I think Autopilot does it as well. The DJI Go app isn't as feature rich.
