Confusion: Compass Calibration

I see that the monitor has a compass calibration setting. I thought the compass is calibrated on the drone itself? I used to do this every flight, but is this the same compass? If I calibrate the monitor, no need to do the drone?

Your Phantom has a compass used for flight that should never need calibration in normal circumstances.
Your controller display has a compass so that it can tell which way you are facing and the map and radar views indicate where your drone is properly.

Where is the calibration for the controller? I want to see the red arrow pointing face forward not some other direction, I've looked at a lot of ut vids but no help. TIA

The red arrow will face forward if you are behind the aircraft. That should be self explanatory.

It’s in the settings it says compass calibration. Very easy to do it.
