Choice of music accompanying videos?

I would be most grateful for some help. Does everyone only choose background music where they have purchased the free royalty rights or is this not necessary in the case of videos for non-commercial work? i don't want to infringe copyright but the stock of music is very limited. Cheers,

You either pay for royalty free which you can use as many times as you wish or find a free source. But you cannot use copyrighted music for free just because the video is non-commercial.

There are sites that have music you can download and use for free, but usually you must either credit the author or provide a link of some sort.
