I have a general question. I have a p4 standard and is the USB cable between the RC and tablet or phone specific to your drone or will any USB cable work?

The cable is specific to your mobile device. You can use any USB cable that'll connect to your mobile device.

Need a cable? I have some good options listed here.

Just make sure that the cable you use is able to transfer data and not just a power cable. @msinger's link has a good selection of cables.

Just bought a slightly used P4P , down loaded the djigo4 app everything good , iPad Air 2 showed disconnected. Read every forum I could, stumbled on a suggestion to check your cable (iPad to RC) . Tried another cable same thing. Bumped cable close to RC and it connected but would disconnect. Tried another cable Bingo it’s working. Two bad cables . Hopes this helps someone , save you a panic attack like I had
