Does anyone know of the best drone apps or a good website to go to with the best drone apps?

@BillyBoot what are your goals for this ap? There are lots of different aps available but it depends on what your goals are.

I am not really sure what my goals are yet... My drone arrives Friday and was just wondering if theres a certain website that has a lot of drone apps that you can read up on and get familiar with.

I highly suggest you read the full manual (not the Quick Start Guide) for your aircraft and understand the DJI Go App inside and out. Learn how to fly it as it is from the factory and how to FLY IT (rather than programming a preprogrammed flight) and once you're proficient at that then you can decide on what your goals/wants/needs are and go from there.

When things go wrong (and they will) you've got to know how to fly it without all the training wheels.

That sounds like a good idea... Thanks BigAl

When i first seen the Dji Go app open ..and all the settings for configuring for all sorts of things......I really did Think...."gee i'll never learn all this" and now after lots of flights and going in to settings at the field and even at home with the drone on and a small computer fan pointed at the "gimbal".......i go in to the many settings in the Dji App and understand it all quite well.......its all very simple......we are here to help you with your questions BillyBoot. check in from time to time and let us know how your doing.

BIGAls recommendations are right On Target ! and what model Drone are you going to get !

Stick with DJI GO for starters. Get to know it and how to interpret the data it provides. Once you've mastered GO, the others will make sense. There are several apps for different applications. But to fly for fun, GO is all you need.

In the meantime, loads of videos out there demonstrating various apps. Watch and see what they do. Then decide if you really need anything else.

There are a number of specialised apps for particular purposes but DJI's own Go app is the best for general flying and photography.
You need to use it to activate a new drone - it won't fly without that.
And you need to learn how the Phantom and the app works before getting adventurous.

An Airspace App would be crucial for you. Especially if you're new and aren't sure where you should and where you shouldn't fly. I'd suggest Airmap because it has built in flight request and approval features for certain airspaces.

Here is the answer to your question: Not a lecture but answers
Insurance app: Verifly – On-demand Drone Insurance
Auto Flight App: Litchi for DJI Mavic / Phantom / Inspire / Spark
Airmap App: Home - AirMap
FAA App: B4UFLY Mobile App
Weather, Maps Fly Zones, Data:
Hover - an app for Drone Enthusiasts
Mapping App: Powerful Drone & UAV Mapping Software | DroneDeploy
3D Imaging App: Pix4Dcapture on the App Store
Log Book, Flight Deck App: Native Mobile Apps for Drones
Magnetic Interference App: Tesla - Metal detector and Magnetic field recorder on the App Store
Now here is the lecture, find a flight instructor, or flight school and actually learn how to fly.
Then you won't be one of the 100's of messages posted on here about your first flight, flying into a wall, tree, or your face.

Thanks...I saved that list.. :)

Soooooooooooooooo very True : Then you won't be one of the " 1000's " of messages posted on here about your " first flight"...flying into a wall, tree, or your face !

Another vote for AirMap here. Before each flight log in, send your flight plan and leave it on while you fly for any "TRAFFIC" alerts of aircraft flying in your vicinity. Log off when you are done flying.
