Any way to repair gimbal without breaking drop pins?

Need to replace my flex cable.
In the video the guy snips the drop pin holding disks, but mine are hard plastic, and would need to be broken (one way tabs).
Is there a way to do this without breaking them or should I just break them and order more parts...

Well, never mind, I snipped them.

You can buy them pretty cheaply or just use small zip ties.

If you use zip ties make sure they are not too tight. A small amount of play is needed to allow the dampening effect of the rubber grommets.

For the future, you could try to compress them which will slightly bend out the locking tabs. Then quickly separate the two pieces before they lock again. It does takes about 30 seconds per pin. That's how I do it, and then they are reusable.

Snipped them and found 2 new ones in my original box.
...but that’s the least of my problems. If I knew how tough replacing the flex cable would be (at least for me!) I would’ve sent it in.
The reviews and videos made it seem a bit more doable.
