3D models on drone footage

Thanks a million. Just looking at C4 now. Reckon I can do the tracking ok, but bit confused about the floor plane. Can you explain that a little more please
 
Sure. The ground plane is really just part of the model, but with a compositing tag applied so it can catch shadows whilst being transparent. It's the shadow that plants the model into the footage
 
Got you!. Hopefully I'll post something up here soon. I'm attempting to overlay a new build development over live drone footage of a green field site. If i struggle there's a job coming your way!

Check out Blender. Very powerful, open source (FREE), does lots of stuff like animation, still renderings, and motion tracking. There's definitely a learning curve, but there are tutorials out there that can help you do what you're talking about.

I've used it to do exactly what you're trying to do, just for fun, though.
