17 or 20 Mpxls ? Real Resolution ? P4P

Just downloaded a CR2 (raw file) from DJI and opened in Photoshop CC. It shows it is an 18.7 MP image (5760x3240) at 300 ppi
You're right, in their FAQ, DJI states clearly 20MP
There was also a DNG file that was a bit smaller (5464x3070) - 16.8 MP
This is from a folder called Straight from the Camera

Found this in the specs list so maybe the above was a raw image taken during video mode (hence 16:9)? Still odd that the numbers from the CR2 file do not show up in the ratios below...
Max Image Size
3:2 Aspect Ratio: 5472 × 3648
4:3 Aspect Ratio: 4864 × 3648
16:9 Aspect Ratio: 5472 × 3078

It depends on the aspect ratio you chose... most people like to go for 16:9, however only 3:2 (squarer and less cinematic) will get you the advertised 20MP :/

-- Max Photo Dimensions --
3:2 Aspect Ratio: 5472 × 3648
4:3 Aspect Ratio: 4864 × 3648
16:9 Aspect Ratio: 5472 × 3078

Edit: I see eoren already posted this

It's not uncommon for MP specs to be listed that way. It is a little misleading but many/most manufacturers do it.

16:9 is a crop of the 3:2 frame, throwing away pixels. Shoot all stills in 3:2.

Something's not right there.
5760x3240 is not one of the resolution options for the camera.
The sensor doesn't produce images wider than 5472 pixels.

In our digital world almost all sizes are rounded (usually UP !) for brevity and to make things more digestible to the non tech world. Hard drives, memory, pictures, processor speed are all just given as a whole number rather than selling a "17.87693" Megapixel camera.

Hard drives are notoriously not close to their advertised capacity.

Don't worry about it. In the grand scheme of things it is invisible to you. It is still a lot more pixels than you could hand count in a lifetime.

If you open any file (No Crop) of Canon 5D Mark II (21.1 Mpx) You will see 5616x3744, Tif, JPG, PSD etc 3:2 Ratio, Why Dji samples not have 3:2 Ratio?, DJI say 20 Mpx but effective only 17?

DJI state that the available camera resolutions are:
3:2 Aspect Ratio: 5472 × 3648
4:3 Aspect Ratio: 4864 × 3648
16:9 Aspect Ratio: 5472 × 3078
And there's no reason to suspect that the published specs won't be true.
5472 × 3648 = 20 MP.

New Hi Meta4, thanks for comment, as photographer as a recommendation or lesson never take photos at a lower resolution than the sensor has, you can crop after

LMAO......P4 = 3.1mil range, 28min flight time, 22mph with OA enabled..... all are DJI specs that are not true. This is why people question anything DJI publishes.
Their track record is not good on delivering on the marketing hype for range and battery life. However, camera specs are not subjective, and pixel dimensions won't vary with the environment. It's really not possible to fudge on them.
