Hey everybody. New to this extreme sports and I have a question.
Do I need cellular to operate my P3A of can I use just WIFI? Thanks for all the good topics they have really been helpful.

You don't have to use either, just make sure you cache the maps in dji go app while on wifi/cellular of the location you will be flying before you leave out. That way you can fly in airplane mode and still have maps of area you are flying.

You do not need any EXTERNAL wifi or cell phone service. A dedicated internal wifi link is established between the Phantom and the remote controller when you turn both on. You may have to select it (clearly says "Phantom") on the mobile device you're using for the DJI Go app if you have other wifi networks around you and ensure you're not in Airplane mode.

The OP is flying a P3A, so there is no dedicated Wi-Fi link.
