Wifi booster... Worth it ??

Has anyone used a wifi booster such as the below to boost the 5.8G signal and get more range ?
Is it worth it ???

this would work for the control signal only as the wifi signal is 2.4Ghz

You recently started another thread about CE vs FCC power levels, so clearly you want more range. Personally, I would re-consider Icarus (I know it did not work for you the first time you tried, but it worked for many people, myself included) or try Magic Power, and if that's not enough, go for better antennas before thinking at amps. Lots of positive comments about the DBS here, but if I had to do it I'd go for the Alphas, very clean setup: DIY Antenna Modification - RANGE TEST (14,180 FEET) with DJI Phantom 3 Standard.

Wall plug-in wifi booster works very well in my case because it makes wifi reach my room which it never did before. All I have done is plugged it into electrical outlet:

Wireless Extender & Router (2.4 & 5.8 GHz, 1200 Mbps) - WiFi Signal Booster, Amplifier, Repeater

It works for both 2.4 GHz and 5.8 GHz and switches between the two as needed depending upon which frequency your router modem uses.
