Hello all,
Which GoPro is best, and what settings? I have a hero 2 and like 720/60fps. Would it be worth it to upgrade to a 3 or 4?
Phantom 1.1.1 will be arriving tomorrow! Hopefully.

Hi. My personal choice is the 4 silver simply because the rear lcd display is priceless. The 4 black will give you better settings for example 4k at 30fps

I believe the latest models will always give you more, more features and settings. My old 3+ black would give 720 at 120 fps. I would go for the 4 black or silver, just a point I should make is that the 4 black doesn't have a rear lcd. I think the upgrade would be worth it, certainly better image quality from the 3 and 4 series. Thanks

Thanks Ash. I use the hero 2 for scuba diving mostly. The hero 4 does come with a underwater case, so I would be all set for that. I guess it is time for a upgrade. I just hope the phantom doesn't fly away with my new scuba toy.
I will get the silver. Any thoughts on settings for flying?

On a side note, they had Nick Woodman on CNBC last week. It sounds like GoPro is buying DJI. I'll bet next year they come out with a phantom 3 with a GoPro 5 on it. If that happens I would want to upgrade again. Then I would have 3 GoPros (I have the hero also), and 2 phantoms and a very unhappy wife.

I've got a Phantom v1.1 and a Phantom 2 Vision + Even though a new GoPro will give you better quality and features, having a gimbal is essential for video stability. Also, having FPV to have some control over composing your shots makes a big difference.

Here are two videos I shot with similar subjects.

Phantom 2 Vision + (Gimbal and FPV): http://youtu.be/NimU7SkOQVU

Hi. I am a little familiar with some cameras. The Gopro and aerial video is new to me. I am quite happy at 1080p 60 fps using medium view. My reason for using medium view is: I fear the Phantoms legs will get into the video. Try out a few settings. For use without the phantom I would use superview.

As stated by the above poster a gimbal would be a definite purchase also. Be very careful with flyaways, I lost my Gopro hero 3+ black, tx, battery fortunately I managed to save my gimbal....just! You will enjoy the 4 silver great little cam

Thanks for helping me out steele9999, and Ash for the settings.
I can't get the vision + for $1300, but I could send the 1.1.1 back, and have them send me a vision for $800. phantom 1 plus GoPro 4 = $900. Anybody want to chime in with a "if it were me" post?
