What’s up with Phantom Pilots

So I used this forum about year ago to sell some stuff, and just came back. I’m looking to sell a phantom 4 pro, but’s when I go to class fields it says I have insignificant privileges. What can I do to resolve this? Thanks, Ohana

Well thank sure for the quick help. The whole paying thing seem so kind of weird as well. Great forum never the less.
Yeh the paying thing is just to help support the forum background costs, only 5 bucks a month, I'm not sure though if paying will speed this issue up or not,,voluntary payment ,

If you were a previous member with posts etc you could have used your other username and not been caught in this "security layer".

Jeez that sucks. Thanks though
It's for YOUR safety and that of your fellow forum members. It's actually a very low barrier and one that's easy to meet usually.

Yeh must say it's a strange one, sorry..not sure on reason for this myself
Strange rule? It's VERY common and has become the "standard" in forums with For Sale/Classified sections.

This is in place so that someone with ill intentions (aka SCAMMERS) have to at leas have a little bit of time and history on the forum before they can post in that section. It GREATLY reduces spamming in those sections and helps to protect you and all of our FORUM membership.

OR Maybe it’s so someone can’t just sell something. First they have to feed into your business. Pretty smart actually.

I can 100% assure you that is NOT the case. We only expect those who come here to Sell also become a part of the community rather than coming here merely to exploit our members.

Staff Members here have a fiduciary responsibility to protect you and ALL of our members from Spam, Porn, and other malware issues. For the record, the staff here are VOLUNTARY and do this because we have a passion for the hobby and this forum.

So y’all think if someone is here for 15 days and has 10 ledgit posts there gonna be a scammer? Wow so all the money is just going in someone’s pocket then?

Selling a drone isn’t exploiting the members.

Selling a drone isn’t exploiting the members.
If you are legitimately selling your drone then it isn't exploiting the members. However if you are a scam artist then you most certainly are exploiting the members. If you are a commercial entity and come here just to sell drones then you are taking advantage of this resource simply for your gains.

So yes it very much makes sense and I appreciate the rule!

Well I’m a individual trying to sell my drone. Pm me if interested

That's the point. You have no history here and none of us have any way of knowing about your intent. Once you contribute to the community, people get to know and trust you. Then you have some credibility when trying to sell a drone.

I am not looking for another drone right now since I have too big of a fleet as it is. Also I generally will only buy from someone local, after I can test fly and evaluate the hardware. Thank you though.

That's your standpoint but we have indeed seen people come here with very bad intentions which is exactly why we have instituted these simple rules.

What track record/credibility do you have with other members on our forum here? When you buy on eBay or Amazon do you happen to look at peoples reviews and/or reputation? Most people do and rarely buy from someone with low or no reputation. We're just expecting a very small, easy, baselines reputation to be developed before allowing someone the priviledge of utilizing our very large membership base.

You're missing the point... these rules are here to protect you as much as the rest of the membership here. It's not a conspiracy to keep you and only you from selling... it's to make you prove, through interactions over a very short period of time, that you appear to be a credible, reliable, and REAL person. Just merely joining and proclaiming you're that type of person serves no purpose at all.

OK ?, that’s interesting that none of y’all get paid.

BigAl07,
Being a moderator is a thankless job..
So let me say THANKS for the time and effort ALL you moderators put into maintaining this site.
I use to moderate the classified section in RC Universe (for free) many moons ago. Been there.
Amazing, the crap people used to try and get away with - then let you know how/when/why and where to do the job.
Let them start their own website and deal with the headaches..
So glad I got away from that.

Kudos from Ken

Thank you VERY much Ken.

You definitely hit the nail on the head. We're fortunate to have an amazing group working behind the scenes.

And I & many others are Very Grateful for your "Diligence in keeping this an "All Drone Pilots & Owners focused on 'Sharing experiences, needing help/information, to sell current Drone, so they can Buy An Newer Drone.
My Reason for "Joining this Group to LEARN from some Very Generous Experienced Pilots".
I have a P3P & a P4P, I'm concerned that I won't be able to find Parts (should I crash) due to DJI ending support for my drones.
