It has been a while that my P3A camera when is configured to auto displays/captures very dark images. I have to set it to manual and constantly change the shutter speed or ISO to have a bright image. Does anyone else has the same problem?

I would start by giving camera full reset,something might have changed somehow

It sounds like you've accidentally dialed in some exposure correction to make the camera underexpose.
Look at the camera data showing on the screen.
Check the number that's under EV.
If it's showing a large negative number like -2.0 or -3.0, the solution is to dial it back close to 0.
