From what I've been reading is if you have a plus you already may have the new esc installed. If when it boots up and you have NO front red lights but they come on when it's armed you have the new esc.
Plus you'll only get one beep instead of 4.
I'll try to find the link. It's on RC GROUPS. The esc are the same except go the the firmware.

Found the link. I'm pretty sure my + has the new esc. I got mine I may. When I boot up no red LEDs until I arm the motors and 1 beep.

Might do this now , already have the controller and props.
Just have to be careful soldering the motors on.

I can confirm this, my esc's are marked V2 on the boards and I get 1 beep. I bought mine about 1-2 months after the plus came out, I waited until the beta testers checked out the new model for me!

Careful...from what I've read it's the firmware that doesn't fly...(pun intended)....

Another thing they're not all marked V2 , some are some arnt.
