Update remote control firmware for phantom 3 standard

Hi
I am newbie. Just got a new phantom 3 standard at bestbuy.
I was having problems updating the new firmware (1.7.90) through tha DJI app so I tried to update manually and it was successfully done.
I am not sure if I have to do update the remote control too?

If the remote controller firmware needs to be updated, you'll see a prompt to update it in DJI GO.

Is there a way to know what firmware you have on the remote controller?

No. You can only find the aircraft firmware version in DJI GO.
