P3 Firmware Up date advice

Just bought a brand-new p3a, date 14-2-2016
My question is ... When i turn on the app it says I need firmware update if I don't update it as I see people update there drones on the forums and having technical problems .
will it just fall out of the sky one day, or can I carry on using it with the firmware already installed
I have no idea how too check what firmware installed so can't tell what's on there....cheers

1. Suggest you download and read the manual from the DJI website.
2. You can check the version of firmware for remote and Phantom in the GO app.
