UK

Oh well, it seems it’s not so easy to fly around here EN9 UK. just about every public place has by laws banning drones and most farmland is fenced off. Anyhow, I’ve done a deal with a local school which allows me to fly outside of school time (while it’s empty) so that should be good. I want to get my CAA permission done soon so much practice is needed.

Question.

How would people respond to a specialised drone zone /field in the UK. Would it become a Mecca for drone enthusiasts or a big white elephant?

Hi everyone,
Just joined today I bought a Phantom 3 Pro in the summer and got hooked. But then realised how dam difficult it is to find flying locations. I live in Harrow, NW London but can drive. I found a great little spot in Hertfordshire.

Am hoping there are some other ladies out there ........ somewhere out there.......?

Am a passionate photographer who got hooked on a drone. How geeky does that sound.

There is just no hope for me lol.

Please be a happy friendly forum.

:)

Hi and welcome, catgirl73, and yep, it is a (mostly) happy friendly forum!

There are other lady pilots out there, so hopefully some answer your plea!
As for flight locations, certainly there are aren't many areas within London "proper" you can safely fly, but there are many amazing locations outside the M25; just avoid the flight path of Heathrow to the west.

Hi there .I'm traveling Fromt Canada, Quebec to your beautiful country this upcomgin August. I will be visiting Winchester and i would like to know what location you would recommend to fly safely and legally (specially tacking into consideration the new laws) Any information would be great.

I’m from the opposite end of the country but there’s plenty of National Parks and stunning coastline down there where you’ll be able to fly perfectly legally

@Keelbyfish, Thank you for the quick reply, much appreciated. Do you have the names of the park or the coastlines you would recommend more than others for stunning images?

Not at all (if you were referring to me) I’m flying to London I the 14th of August and making my way to Winchester on the 15th of August . I wouldn’t mind getting In contact with a local in that area to show me some areas where are could shoot some cinematic footage. Where are you located Ian

I'm in Southampton which is around 11 miles away from Winchester. Living in a city with a busy port gives plenty of photo opportunities for someone such as myself that loves ships of all kinds, you can see some of mine and my brothers work here ThePhantomZone2018’s albums | Flickr There are plenty of other worthy places which are local if ships aren't your thing. The "New Forest" is beautiful but off limits as It's a national park not that it has stopped anyone else because there's lots of drone footage online of the forest.

I'm waving here from the northwest! Manchester to be more precise.

I've been looking around for some uk flyers but not having much luck! Only know one other guy. So everyone shout up! Must be more of us?
