Mine uses the stock velcro and I pulled the sticky tape on it and put it on the Carbon Fiber gimble guard on the left side against the landing leg behind all of the camera. This way it can be taken off and charged.

So I don't think it is 3G

That's a question you will have to ask your local telco company. Different countries operate differently.

yeah you should ask your telco company about it.. AT&T just shutdown their 2G network service last jan 1, 2017

I purchased the Marco Polo recently, mainly because of the worries about cellular issues, size, weight and battery time between charges. It's pretty slick and if I ever lose interest in drones, I can put it on my dog's collar or in my wife's purse. Initial investment is 2x Trackimo, but nothing further. It comes with its own receiver/locator, so nothing else is needed except a spot of velcro on the side of the drone. It's beacon signal does not interfere with the drone. I'm happy - if I remember to use it.
