Phantom 2 ImmersionRC Plug And Play Cable
ImmersionRC 5.8GHz Long Range 600mW A/V Transmitter
iOSD Mini
Black Pearl Screen
Monitor Mount
ImmersionRC 5.8GHz Antenna SpiroNET - Version 2
Some sort of Helical Antenna

Thoughts? I'm totally new to FPV and know nothing about this stuff. Is this all I need to upgrade my P2 with H3-3D and GoPro Black to get full FPV?

It's like $587 though, and I was trying to stay under $500. Guessing I can find it cheaper if I order from an American site?

the price does seem a bit high, so perhaps you can get it all for less from an American site.
(I'm not sure what the Black Pearl goes for, but everything else should come to around $250)

But sounds like you have it all figured out, and boy you'll enjoy flying FPV

Are you in the US or UK?
You've indeed got all the parts you need, but I agree the price seems high. When I was first going FPV I was looking at kits then I realized I could build the entire system myself for way less than the kits. Using that plug and play cable would eliminate the soldering anyway if you're using that transmitter.

if you aren't in a hurry, you might be able to piece together the kit for less money from various sites.... I'm converting those Firstpersonview.co.uk prices to US dollars for this comparison:
ImmersionRC 600mW Tx: FPV.co.uk=$113 BangGood = $83
Black Pearl 7" LCD: FPV.co.uk=$264 Dronefly = $205
consider this LCD alternative: Boscam RX-LCD5802 I believe it supports the same channels, and it's only $160 from BangGood
monitor mounts are cheap and plentiful, lots of diff options
FPVLR.com Antenna kit: $110 usd (just make sure you email the guy and explain which connectors you need)

so theoretically, 21 (cable) + 83 (Tx) + 160 (lcd) + 70 (iosd mini) + 110 (antennas) = $444 USD or 262 british pounds, and that's splurging on top quality antennas. Granted those prices don't include tax/shipping but I feel like I'm beating $587 with wiggle room left over for monitor mount or other minor peripherals... I think my monitor mount pieces were like $15 total from a local hobby shop

this is all you need to get started hope this helps

My advice for a cheap FPV system that works and its very easy to install, almost plug and play, takes 5min to install on phantom.

Video Tx to install on the phantom:
Boscam TS353 400mw: http://j.mp/1gJ6t7s

LCD with Receiver and battery:
Boscam 7" RX-LCD5802 5.8GHz Diversity Receiver: http://j.mp/1lZuham
LCD Battery Charger: http://j.mp/1h3CreQ

I used this with great sucess, you can expect at least 1km with sotck antennas (without any obstacles), and if you change to better antennas you can get 2km or more. :)

Hi, I'm also new.
I live in southern California in a city environment. I usually launch from a park or open area. Anyway, with a set up like yours and some good antennas, what kind of range do you think I can expect?
Thanks

when is someone going to start making that for Boscam transmitters! :)

What do you use for the gimbal and camera with that setup?

I bought this setup and I would do the same again if I had to make up another P2 FPV setup. Make sure you get a 7 channel Black Pearl screen instead of the more common 32 channel screen!
