He was about 5kms away by road, and about 800 metres away across the lake. No chance to talk to him. My guess is he's using a Canon.
If I post up a screen shot it might help....

The tripod next to him might be a give-away.
Now do you get my little joke?
No idea how many "shots" he took, but you can see him grab the camera as the quad comes into view.
He was there on an earlier pass and he was shooting the girl with him, using the lake as the backdrop.
