MaxxUav Canada quoted me a price for a kit they put together for my Dji Phantom 3 Standard. It includes

Custom Mounting bracket, 1x 2.4 booster,1x 5.8 booster,Battery and cables for $399 Canadian.Their e-mail also said you will only use one booster on the 5.8ghz, booster on the control side, the other will connect directly to the antenna as usual. Also, just wondering if this is a good price for the stuff in their kit. What do you think..Here are some pics of their Dji Evolite Kit,so its similar for what it will look like on a Standard Rc.

if you doing this for the Phantom 3 standard you need 2 X 2.4gHz boosters 2.4gHz is the wifi signal 5.8 is control signal and only 1 booster need for that.

More than the price of the drone?
I can't see spending that on a mod.
Buy 3 batteries instead.

I have seen a post before on this website, some say 2x2.4gHz boosters, others say one will do cause it will switch to the best Wi-Fi signal which is the one with the amp on it.Is that true..

I would use two personally if it were me, the whole idea is to have the best signal and strongest signal. 2 is better then one theory applies here I would also think with 2 antenna onboard the RC, one can send while one receives as apposed to trying to send and receive though one. think of it like a single lane traffic both directions there is back up for sure. yes its radio waves, but those waves have to leave a base of transmission and return to that base one base pulling double duty works harder then one for each direction

If you don't mind spending the extra hundred bucks or whatever, and you don't mind having to power three amps instead of two, and you don't mind the extra weight and awkwardness of a third amp and cables, then yes, get the second amp for the 2.4. It can't hurt and it might help. But people have been using one amp for the 2.4 for years and have had excellent results. I personally have never seen the need for a second amp for the 2.4. I've been flying a P2 series for over two years and my best distance is 17,700 feet with full FPV and telemetry on the turn-around (stock range on a P2V+ is 800 meters as opposed to a P3S where stock is 1000 meters). I was showing 5 bars for 5.8 and 4 bars for 2.4 and wanted to go further but reluctantly turned around due to the stock battery at 60%.

If I was going to make a change, I'd mod the battery - since that's the weak link.

On the other hand, my hero, DB, an expert drone enthusiast, goes with two 2.4 amps. But he uses a modded battery for achieving world-class distance.

So it's up to you.
