Some confusion about renewing Part 107 certification

My Part 107 certification lapsed in March when things were pretty shut down and I guess I just missed the window for the 6-month extension. I've been reading the ASA 2020 Test Prep book to get back up to speed and - maybe I'm reading this wrong - but it appears to say that prerequisites for Part 107 are: possession of a Part 61 certificate and taking the recurrent online course. Is this correct?

I was under the impression that all I had to do was to take the Part 107 online recurrent knowledge test.

Little help?

Thanks!

The FAA extended the online ability to take your UGR. Ignore the part about saying it's only good for Part 61 pilots. Go ahead and take the test and you're good. You'll have 6 months to go into an in-person testing center to take the test for your two year renewal.

My article about this will help.

Thank you mossphotography! So with the extension you can take the exam online now AND again within 6 months, or do you just take the online course at faasafety.gov with it's built-in exam (which I just did) to get the extension?
