The specs for the P3 say that the gimbal will tilt -90° to +30°.
I was wondering what happened to the extra 30° but found it today.

This is one of the settings that stays hidden until you connect to the P3.
The additional range for the gimbal is hidden in the apps menus here:

Once enabled, this allows you to shoot upwards.
You'll see a lot of props but with patience and photoshop you can get some great skies in your pics under the right conditions.
The camera handles the bright clouds much better than my last P2V+.

I found that setting as well and see that when you turn the toggle on the camera will point above default. But the toggle says 15 degrees not 30. Is it fully enabled using just the Gimbal Pitch slider? I couldn't tell if it did anything.

I just found out that I was on 1.0.10 that I just downloaded form the play store... I need 1.1.0 to get these menus... and this is only (as of today) available from DJI's download page

Thanks for making me know what I was missing. I would have never knowing :)

When tilting your gimbal upwards for extra sky, take your photos while travelling backwards at full speed - this puts the props further out of the field of view relative to the camera. Provided you are not at ground level, and lighting is good, you should still get a crisp shot.
