Show off your Cases!!

This P3 case seems pretty lame to me. Looks like it's got 4 blue tits. Hmm.

Here is my phantompak. Well, it's a product of my company now but the original motivation was from a trip I took In Africa in 2014 w/ my P2. I had a hard time putting all my range extending antennas, prop guards, harness, charger, and the drone itself into a carry-on luggage. I was so pissed off so when I got back to the states I started to design my own backpack. The idea is to put as much as stuff in a backpack. Almost all the cases/packs out there use pre-cut foam core, which really wasted a lot of room. So what I did was to use "divider" walls kinda like the stock paper core. The walls are made of EVA and also work as structural support. Took me almost a year to get the final product. We've been making motorcycle touring luggage for 10 years and all the knowledge and resource made this possible. It'll fit all phantoms 1 to 3. Check it out. It's probably the most accommodating one out there. EVA shell and all.

Well come on in, to the forum and Phantom family.
Just wanted to advise if you don't already, to place the cinch strap under the radio controller antennas, before you buckle her down.
I even run mine under the metal handle out back. Seems to fit best that way. Are you storing your iPad or other device, under the back/lid foam, during travel, too? Pretty handy for their simple storage system and near distant travel companion, what these hardshell backpacks turned out to be. I just love mine for its comfort & convenience of travelling light, especially while out on a rYde with my awesome SpYder RS-S. ;-)
What more could a poor boy desire? Ha

Now I have always run the strap over top of my transmitter antennas. Is it suppose to go over or under tgem?

Thanks... chris

There was a thread on someone's antenna getting broken, being over stressed under the strap, and breaking them at the attachment points.

So, just a word of strong advice. ;-)
I place the strap under both of the antenna and metal handle.

View attachment 38739 View attachment 38740 View attachment 38741 View attachment 38742 View attachment 38743 Here's my setup. I went with CaseClub for a hard case. I was able to strap a North Face backpack that is designed to hike with a snowboard to it to make it a "hard case backpack". I have extra space for 3 extra sets of props, 7 Batts, Charger, polar pro ND 6 pack, SD Card pack, and 2 tablets. The two silver packs in the lid are reusable dessicant packs. It is exact size for carry on use, and a lifetime warranty on the case, built in the USA. I'm very happy with it.

7 batteries!!! :)

It is also worth mentioning that even with the strap, you're not guaranteed not to break the Antenna. You need to be careful when closing the lid- as sometimes the top lid does not align properly, pushing the antenna down on the tips and breaking the base.

Just go and fly no messing with antenna hook up.there is still more room under props for more cut outs!!! Also wanted taller landing gear on my p3 this case works did u do the remote yourself or mail it out? I'm sending mine out Saturday just wondering how long u were without it.

DJi's Hardshell Backpack - Came as part of the gift, so trying it out for awhile to see if it meets my needs.

I actually store the RC with the antennas down. The metal "leg" on the RC stops the antennas from reaching the bottom of the case. That way they are out of the way and I can just run the strap over the RC.

Which case are you using? My radio controller won't fit upside down in the DJI hardshell backpack. As it sticks out a couple of inches, turned that way. Post a pic of yours please. Thanks.

I also store the RC with the antennas down and I use the DJI hardshell backpack.
The RC fits fine and the strap holds it securely.

Post a pic of your radio in the downside up position. Interested to see how it fits, as mine does not.

That's interesting. I was looking for pics online, and found both of these...
I will have to remove my props and see what gives...

It seems it can be placed on its edge as well...

You can clearly see a cutout in the lid foam, for the metal handle. ;-)

I just got this one. It is built like a tank, but everything fits nicely. This will be my primary case, but will use the DJI backpack for hikes, bicycle trails, and carry-on luggage.

Here's photos of my DJI hardshell case with the RC antennas facing down.
Seems to be supported fairly well underneath by the foam cutout.
