So I am blacking out my phantom and have a spare set of landing gear that I dyed. I wanted to black out the cable for the compass as well with just some regular braiding and heatshrink.

The compass itself is not covered, but I was just wondering if people were positive that this would cause concerns.

Thanks!

It is an antenna why would you braid it? black it with non metallic paint or better yet dye...

I just had spare braid around from when I braided my FPV wires. Just using supplies around the house to braid the cable. The compass is in the housing that is blacked out.

It looks like it is plastic.
Yes???
No issues then.

If it was metallic, or maybe carbon, that would be different.

Aside from weight, plastic poses no interaction with the quad's on-board 'avionics'.

Yep, definitely plastic. Appreciate the feedback. ;)
