Ok so I'm trying to help my friend setup his p3s and I have a p3a so it connects up differently. You gotta connect it by wifi and I used to have one about a year ago but for the life of me I'm stuck. So I turn on the controller then the app and bird. I got to wifi to connect the app to the controller. I see phantom1234 or whatever it says and click on it. Then ask me the password which I know by default is 12341234. It looks like its connecting and then it says in small writing below the phantom1234 no internet connection? He has internet as his house and he was connected to that prior to trying to connect the controller to the app. Does this mean that his controller has no wifi signal to his phone? He returned the drone and got another one and he told me it's doing the same thing. I don't remember having this problem when I had my standard. Seem like mine just connected right up. I must be missing something[emoji848]

That's okay. The Phantom's WiFi network is not connected to the Internet, so that's working as expected.

Wait that's what it's suppose to say?? I didn't even bothering going back to the app to see if it was connected cause when it said that I assumed it wasn't working right

Mobiles, like recent versions of Windows try to test your network and see if you actually have internet through it. When your Wi-Fi is connected to the RC/AC, you aren't going to get internet so your mobile tells you this. Wi-Fi clients can only connect to one AP at a time so you are either connected to the RC (no internet possible) or to the home Wi-Fi (internet but no RC connection) but you can't have both.
Some mobiles will let you get internet through your cell data plan if internet "fails" over the Wi-Fi connection but most don't.

Modern operating systems try to "ping" something to make sure the internet is working "properly." For example, they may try to connect to randomtestwebsite.com (just an example) to make sure it works. This is to prevent user frustration so if you are connected to some free WiFi network that isn't working properly, instead of wasting time trying to load websites and it not working, it warns you right away. As a result, since the Phantom is just a local WiFi network and isn't actually connected to the internet, this happens. I get the warning each time on Android 7.0 with my Phantom 3 Standard. It's normal :)

On Android 6.0 and above, when it states no internet on the wifi, you can opt to remain connected to the network, and it will save it in that config, did so on my Nexus 6 when first connecting to my P3S.

Many open WiFi won't connect you to the internet right away but rather redirects any browsing to the Wi-Fi sign-on site so that situation would report "no internet".
When that happens, Chrome complains the site I first try to go to is compromised and won't let me go to the sign on page.
