Hello everyone! About to head to Seattle and Portland. First time going there. Any recommendations on where to fly and places to avoid! Thanks!

Pretty much fly anywhere you want in Portland. I fly all over, all most every day.

Make sure and get the Willamette Falls and of course some of the awesome bridges.

I've never been up to Seattle, but would love to shoot the Space Needle.

are you flying for fun or Part 107?
Seattle has a ton of airspace restrictions. You are always within 5 miles of an airport/airfield/heliport/etc. If you use the B4UFly app you can see how crowded it is up here. And for being a non Part 107 flyer you are required to call each and every airport and give them notice of where you will be and at what time.

Seattle also has municipal code that states you cannot fly a UAV within a park. So that covers a lot of open spaces in the city. Even the beaches are City Parks (Alki & Golden Gardens).

I live in Seattle and have a hard time finding a place to fly within the city.

Good luck
