Return to home not working

I just did my first flight today and I had it in beginner mode. I hit the return to home button and it just auto landed we’re it was. I don’t know how to fix it

How far away was your Phantom from the home point?

15 to 20 feet

If your Phantom is less than 20 metres from home, initiating RTH will cause the Phantom to land where it is.
You have to fly further than 20 metres from home to use RTH.

Good for You....as you posted you had it in "beginner mode".......keep it their till you are very familiar with your flights and proper safe controls !....Then take it out of that mode and be careful.it will fly much much faster))))))))) and out of sight fast too ! Have a great time with your new drone and be careful too !
