I want to purchase a range extender I have noticed at about a mile I start losing video and I don't want to loose control of my phantom any suggestions. I know drone world makes one but I have to send it away I might have withdrawals.

Do not ever use drone world. They sell extenders at 5x the price - they take the ITElite and mark it up. They are a bunch of crooks. Use MaxxUav or one of the other ones.
Have you considered simple over-the-antenna reflectors? I swear by them and have a set for each of the 3 drones that I fly. The kind that are attached to each other work great and they keep the antennas from flopping forward. I get 40-50% greater range with them.
