Range extender mod

Newbie question. Do range extenders on controller just extend flight range or also video range?

"Range extender" is a generic term and can mean all sorts of things, but regardless, one can extend the range of either or both.

For a mod like the Itelite DBS, you get significantly more range. As you get to the outer limits of the flight range, you may lose video signal to your Tablet/Smartphone, but it's still recording to the drone's SD card. The video recorded on the tablet after your flight is a lower rez proxy. It's handy to view, but the SD card has the full length 4k video files.
