And careful with enabling gopro's 2.4ghz wifi as it can 'blind' the 2.4ghz controller and possibly cause a flyaway.

Well you sure don't sound happy with the answer. If you want to see what the GoPro is taping/photographing then you'll need FPV system consisting of a 5.8GHz transmitter, mini iOSD and monitor/receiver amongst other pieces of equipment.
