PV2+ Flyaways, GPS interference from camera subsystem

Well, I've
not yet stopped flying, but in 4 years, I've not had one fly away with 4 Naza GPS based crafts, 3 ZeroUAV YS X6 crafts, 1 WKM and a SuperX, so I'm just lucky

I apologize for cross posting, but wanted to see if anyone's got an idea about this:

I was wondering about maybe replace the GPS Antenna with one that has a higher gain.

I think this one below can be used to replace the P2V+ GPS antenna. However, am looking for something with more gain.

Like these, but not sure if these are too thick..

These are Glonass Antennas

This one is slighly thicker (by 2mm), but am thinking might work:

Anyone have experience with this?

No expert here but if it was indeed an inherant hardware fault would it not show up on ALL aircraft ?

Just wondered out of interest ?

I may be totally off-base here, but isn't the Phantom's GPS & GPS antenna a single, integrated unit? I am not sure there is a way to connect a replacement antenna?

No, the antenna sits by itself on the 'top' of the PCB.

There have been several reported successful antenna replacements. If you take them at 'web value' ;).

Ah ha! It must be soldered to the pads I see on the GPS module photo I am looking at right now. Sorry I've never seen the GPS separated from the aircraft before.

From what I see in the posts and respective dates, it appears that Lizard has not posted in a week since a request for test results was made.

While it is possible that he/she just hasn't had an opportunity to get back on and offer any link to test results, it is also possible that faced with having to show evidence, decided it wasn't worth the effort to get any material together (or perhaps there was no material).

I have no idea which, if any, of these possibilities are correct, but I would be very anxious to learn as much as there is to know if there is a real problem or not.

I have links on my other thread to a guy who photo documented the process. Much quick lock and more satellite.

I sure hope everything is OK cuz I was one of those who had not posted in many days, 10+ days actually and it was due to a pulmonary embolism, that cane about on the heels of a minor knee surgery.......
