I bought a Phantom 1 and this gimbal came with it. Trying to identify it so I can download a manual and figure out how to work it

Zenmuse h3-2d. Though the camera is not Hero3, so you probably have mismatched camera. Unless there was something like h1-2d, but I doubt that.
Gopro didn't kept the back interface compatible between models, so I'd be careful with connecting different camera there. Though maybe you'll have luck and the specific pins used by gimbal will match.

@yo-dude was confused about the version with Hero3 vs Hero4 mount. Hero4 mount you can buy for cheap from china, and it replaces the camera back connector.
What you're showing here is a connector which goes to either Phantom 2 Center Board or to GCU module, if the gimbal is used with something else than Ph2 with Zenmuse connector.
The connector is 8-pin with pitch of 1.25mm, in case you want to buy a cable for it.
